Inside Sales Representative

Poughkeepsie NY

  • Pay: base salary $40,000-45,000/yr. (depending on prior relevant experience)
  • Uncapped commission potential

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Corporate Building Construction Products Manager, the Inside Sales Representative for Caterpillar heavy construction equipment is responsible for the following tasks:
  • Professionally handle walk-in and phone inquiries to secure business when opportunities arise
  • Greet customers in a welcoming and professional manner
  • Utilize all of the sales tools to assist in closing business
  • Qualify all leads and pass along to Outside Sales Reps as appropriate
  • Ensure machine display and demo areas are presentable
  • Manage customers effectively by scheduling calls based on a predetermined frequency
  • Update the customer’s account/machine info and develop business relationships
  • Strategize with Sales Manager and Outside Sales Reps on efforts to target particular territories/customers
  • Support marketing efforts and attend trade shows, as needed
  • Continually strive to develop product/industry knowledge and business intellect
  • Utilize the various technologies and tools to communicate the value of CAT and H.O. Penn products & services
  • Sales administrative assistance duties as needed
The Inside Sales Representative position is an entry-level sales trainee position offering a base salary plus uncapped commission potential!

  • Occasional off-hour (by phone only) availability required, as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Must be computer proficient & able to use MS Outlook, Word, and Excel; CRM proficiency helpful
  • Must have excellent communication skills
  • Must have strong organizational and follow-up skills
  • Must be able to demonstrate self-motivation
  • Availability to travel within H.O. Penn’s territory as needed
Essential Physical Job Qualifications:

  • Standing and/or sitting for prolonged periods of time
  • Hand coordination (typing and writing)
  • Occasional forward bending and reaching
  • Occasional walking and climbing stairs
  • Carrying (up to 20lbs.)
